Golf at Tasmania Golf Course and a rainy day in Hobart

8th February 2018

There was light rain from the outset this morning and it looks set in. Nevertheless, we have booked a game of golf at the Tasmania Golf Course at Sorrel, and decided to give it a go.

When we arrive the carpark is reasonably busy and there is ladies competition on this morning. We had booked a tee time just following the comp, however the golf pro suggested we hit off the10th hole for a quicker round.

The rain is just a light drizzle, so we decided to play, hoping it would not get any heavier, which it didn't.

Conditions on the course a pretty good, considering it gives easy access to the public, and whilst the fairways were a bit patchy in places, the greens were in good condition.

Looking over Barilla Bay

Overlooking Barilla Bay, it is a very scenic course, and the many oyster leases in the bay are readily seen at low tide.

The handicapper has taken 2 shots off Mike's handicap given the previous few rounds. Carole struggled with the putter, so the tournament status has now moved to Mike being 17 up. Looks like more shots will be taken off his handicap for the next round.

Rain is still patchy, but it is an overcast day, and after lunch at the golf club we headed back to our apartment for a rest. Carole did some laundry, as it will probably be our last chance to get some done, and we wandered down to Salamanca Place for dinner in one of the many pub food type restaurants.
